Just for my mother dear

I am posting something new.  Because my mom text me at 9 a.m. asking "are you ever going to change your blog".
Last week was crazy busy with the Workmon girls here.  And we loved every moment of it.  It may not have been relaxing, but it was most definitely refreshing.  Kate is a mess and kept me laughing.  Caedmon just loved having people here to play with, though he was quieter than normal, letting the girls do the talking.  I have some pictures I'll add later when I get a chance to upload.
Last weekend Chase and I had a date night out to Paint & Pals where we painted our first masterpieces, Big Al and a cross (respectively).  We had a blast and will definitely go back.  Once again I will post pictures when I upload them.
Since I know what my mom really wanted was for me to put up some new pics, and since I mentioned above than I have yet to upload new pics, I'm treating you to some old ones.
Enjoy.

What a day!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today was probably one of the craziest days of my life.
At 7:07 a.m. this morning, Chase woke me up asking "Where is my car?"  I'm thinking, seriously you don't remember?  I tell him it's by the mailbox where you parked it.  To which he responds, "No it's not. And I have my keys."  So I jump up (wearing only an XL t-shirt and undies), run outside with Chase, and see for myself that his truck is, in fact, not where he left it.  After standing there dumbfounded for a few minutes, Chase called his dad and my stepdad to see if by some random chance, one of them knows where it is.  When neither of them did, he decided it was time to call the police (and I decided I better go put some shorts on!)
So an officer comes, Chase files a report, and then heads to work in my car.  Chase had left his laptop in the car for the first time (which is important later in the story.)
We all continue about our day like normal.  Courtney and I loaded the kiddos in the van and headed to the pool for some fun in the sun.  We splashed around, then had a picnic and the little ones chowed down on some watermelon.
While Chase was at work, he realized that he had downloaded our bank account info into his quickbooks Monday, so therefore all that was in the car.  So after he came home from work around 3, he headed to the bank to close all accounts and open new ones.  Just as he finished up with that, he got a call from the police station that he needed to come down there.  When he got there, they tell him that they found a bunch of gps systems, cd players, dvd players and other electronics.  Apparently a gang that hangs around a local high school decided to go on a spree breaking in cars. And they decided to steal Chase's truck instead of just taking the laptop.  So Chase had to identify his laptop and also his radar detector was there.  They had a tip on the truck but when they went to check it out it was not there.  He came home with his laptop around 5 and gets another call at 5:45 that they found his truck.  We jumped in the car (leaving Courtney with all 3 kids, in the middle of dinner.  THANKS COURT!), and head to the apartment complex, not 8 minutes from our house, where they found it.  We got there and there are 2 detective cars and a police car and they are dusting for prints and everything.  It was crazy!
So less than 12 hours after reporting his car stolen, he got it back safe and sound!!  Our carseat and diaper bag where still in there, untouched.  My favorite denim jacket had been in there, so I was excited to get that back!!
Apparently the above mentioned gang were caught in the act early this morning robbing something and 4 guys were arrested.  After multiple reports of break-ins and Chase's stolen truck,  they were heavily interrogated, first giving up the location of the electronics and finally the location of the truck.
It all seems like we just watched an episode of Law & Order or something!

Not one time today did either of us get angry or mad or cry or stress out about any of this.  We know we serve a mighty God and we will not be stolen from, spiritually, emotionally or physically!  We have our truck back and the thieves who took it are in jail.  Courtney and I put it best tonight when I said "This is why you don't mess with sons (and daughters!) of the Most High God" and she said "Yep, because we ALWAYS win."

*if there are any grammatical errors, it's late and I'm not proofreading!!  I'm going to eat cookie/cool whip sandwiches!

lunch!!

A few weeks ago my sister sent me a text message that made my day.
It read:  "there's an abner's in Fairhope"
"ARE YOU SERIOUS??" was my reply.
and serious she was.  One of my favorite Starkville places has made its way down south.  We headed that way for lunch today and it was just as yummy as ever!   I know Mobile has too many a few chicken tenders places, but not one of them has the yummy grilled tenders that Abner's has.  (Don't worry, my Mobilian readers, Foosacklys is still my favorite fried chicken tenders place.)
Now I have two of my most favorite places, Abners and Peppers, within driving distance.  I can get a taste of Starkville without driving 4 hours.

Blessed Be The Name

Next week one of my favorite clothing lines is going to be on display at my house!

Courtney and her girls are loading up the trunk of clothes and heading south for a little fashion fun!

They'll be here Tuesday-Friday morning.  The actual trunk show will be Thursday, July 16 from 2-6 p.m.  We'll also show by appointment anytime from Tuesday at 2 through Thursday at 9.

These clothes are great!!  Caedmon has several sets from the spring line and we love them.  The shirts are pima cotton and oh-so-soft! If you have a little one, or know anyone who might be interested, PLEASE come check it out! You'll be glad you did!

Georgia Weekend

LONG POST AHEAD

Two weekends ago (June 27-29), we headed Northeast for a little time in Georgia.  Our first stop was Marietta to celebrate our girl Kate Workmon's 3rd birthday.

Caedmon enjoying the awesome inflatable water toy.
All three kiddos checking out the candy.  Priceless.

The birthday girl. She's a trip!
Caedmon and Kate playing.  Note the phone ring at the end and Caedmon's reaction.

After the party, we kept trekking north and met my nanny (my mom's mom) and my cousin Brittany for dinner.  Then we headed to my nanny's house for bedtime.  Or so we planned.  Caedmon, however, decided he didn't need to go to bed til 1:30 a.m. Fun times.  Sunday morning we got up and headed to pick up Granny (my stepdad's 96 year old grandmother) to take her to breakfast.  Caedmon was exhausted from his late night party and wasn't very nice.  We did capture a picture of him being sweet to her for a brief moment.  For lunch we headed to Greenlife, an organic grocery store with a deli, sushi bar, and bakery.  I got a california roll at the sushi bar and it was de-lish!  We got lots of fun snacks to try and even got some mascara which I LOVE.  We then headed home for a much needed nap for everyone.  After naptime, we hung around my nanny's for a while then went to my FAVORITE restaurant in the whole wide world, Bea's.  It's been in Chattanooga for probably 50 years or more.  When I was a little younger, the same waitresses worked there that had been there when they opened and wore the same white dresses.  I've never been anywhere else like it.  The tables seat about 8 people and have a lazy susan in the middle.  There is no menu.  They always have fried chicken, bbq pork,  new potatoes, pinto beans, rolls, corn and a cobbler (peach is my favorite).  You can have sweet tea or water, or get a coke from the coke machine.  I could eat my weight in the food (and usually feel like I do!).  Caedmon inhales some pinto beans!  He was so messy we had to wipe him down and change his clothes before getting him out of the high chair!  I HIGHLY recommend going there if you are ever in the area!

Monday morning we got up and headed back down to Marietta to help Courtney pack up for their big move.  Chase corralled the kiddos while we packed.  We headed back home late afternoon.  We made it back that night around 10 and it was good to be home!  We've definitely learned that Caedmon does not travel well around bedtime.  Some kids do best then cause they can sleep.  Not our Caedmon.  He moves too much in his sleep so after about an hour of sleeping, he tries to switch positions and wakes up mad as a hornet.  We'll be planning all travels from now on to occur in the morning!
