LONG POST AHEAD
Two weekends ago (June 27-29), we headed Northeast for a little time in Georgia. Our first stop was Marietta to celebrate our girl Kate Workmon's 3rd birthday.
Caedmon enjoying the awesome inflatable water toy.
All three kiddos checking out the candy. Priceless.

The birthday girl. She's a trip!
Caedmon and Kate playing. Note the phone ring at the end and Caedmon's reaction.
After the party, we kept trekking north and met my nanny (my mom's mom) and my cousin Brittany for dinner. Then we headed to my nanny's house for bedtime. Or so we planned. Caedmon, however, decided he didn't need to go to bed til 1:30 a.m. Fun times. Sunday morning we got up and headed to pick up Granny (my stepdad's 96 year old grandmother) to take her to breakfast. Caedmon was exhausted from his late night party and wasn't very nice. We did capture a picture of him being sweet to her for a brief moment. For lunch we headed to Greenlife, an organic grocery store with a deli, sushi bar, and bakery. I got a california roll at the sushi bar and it was de-lish! We got lots of fun snacks to try and even got some mascara which I LOVE. We then headed home for a much needed nap for everyone. After naptime, we hung around my nanny's for a while then went to my FAVORITE restaurant in the whole wide world, Bea's. It's been in Chattanooga for probably 50 years or more. When I was a little younger, the same waitresses worked there that had been there when they opened and wore the same white dresses. I've never been anywhere else like it. The tables seat about 8 people and have a lazy susan in the middle. There is no menu. They always have fried chicken, bbq pork, new potatoes, pinto beans, rolls, corn and a cobbler (peach is my favorite). You can have sweet tea or water, or get a coke from the coke machine. I could eat my weight in the food (and usually feel like I do!). Caedmon inhales some pinto beans! He was so messy we had to wipe him down and change his clothes before getting him out of the high chair! I HIGHLY recommend going there if you are ever in the area!
Monday morning we got up and headed back down to Marietta to help Courtney pack up for their big move. Chase corralled the kiddos while we packed. We headed back home late afternoon. We made it back that night around 10 and it was good to be home! We've definitely learned that Caedmon does not travel well around bedtime. Some kids do best then cause they can sleep. Not our Caedmon. He moves too much in his sleep so after about an hour of sleeping, he tries to switch positions and wakes up mad as a hornet. We'll be planning all travels from now on to occur in the morning!
