Houses, Houses, Houses!
I haven't updated this in over a week! I know my mom is tired of seeing the same post when she checks this 3 times a day!
The past 7 days have been CRAZY! First, we got an offer on our house last Wednesday. We countered and they accepted. I realized we better kick our house hunt into high gear. So we set out Thursday evening to look at 2 houses. The first one was in the neighborhood we want, had great bones, but needed way more work than we have the time or money for. The second one we LOVED. It was almost 2000 sq. ft., had 4 bedroom, a garage, and a great yard. It needed some updating but had awesome potential. So we put in an offer. Then we got bad news. The exterior of the house was Masonite. Back in the 90s there was a class-action lawsuit against the producers of Masonite, because it basically just rotted and can't be fixed. So the house needed to be completely re-sided, which would cost about $16,000. And the owner had no intention of dropping his price to accommodate that. We were SO disappointed!
Saturday, we set out house hunting again. The first one we LOVED, but it was on a busy street and that just won't work with a toddler and a dog. The second one was nothing too exciting. The 3rd one was once again in the neighborhood we love, but I just wasn't impressed. About the time we got to the second 3rd one, I started feeling yucky. I had been tired all day, but I was achey and my skin hurt. The 4th house we both liked, it was in our price range and in the right neighborhood! So we made an offer!
Then I started second guessing that decision. While it was a great house, the master bedroom was downstairs and the other 2 were upstairs. I just didn't want my Caedmon upstairs without me. It's just not a great age for that. And the thought of traipsing up and down those stairs the next time I'm pregnant did not sound appealing. So we decided to keep looking.
On Tuesday, we get news that, following the inspection of our house, we need a new roof. Yay. There goes our tax refund! But we know our God is gracious, and at least we have the money to do it and a buyer for our house! So we keep on keeping on!
We have a house in mind that we want to buy. It's about 5,000 out of our price range right now, but with some negotiation, it just might work. We're praying for direction and discernment for our next steps. We know God has the right house for us, in the right price range and location.
On top of all the house craziness, we've had visitors for the past week! Last thursday, 2 of our favorite georgia girls came to hang out for the weekend. Courtney and Lucy left Charlie and Kate and headed our way! I had some much needed Courtney time and Caedmon got his flirt on with Lucy. They had a ball together! They would climb in his chair and sit together, give each other kisses, and play in the playroom. It was so much fun! I'll post some pics as soon as I can snatch them from Courtney's shutterfly!
Courtney and Lucy left Sunday morning right around the time that my nanny made it into Mobile. We've had a great time with her here this week. She loves spending time with little man and he has a blast with her. We wish she could come more often!
Hope everyone is having a blessed week!

25 random things
I posted this on Facebook and thought I'd share it here too.
1. I'm addicted to chocolate. Seriously.2. I knew I'd marry Chase the first week we were dating. Probably the first date. When you know, you know.
3. I am a stickler for spelling. My husband can't spell. Drives me crazy.
4. I have my dream job. All through college when someone would ask what I wanted to be when I grew up I'd say "a wife and mommy". God is good!
5. I've always been blessed with amazing girl friends! I just wished they all lived next door.
6. My first dog had 3 names. He was mine and I named him Bubba. My mom apparently didn't like that name and called him something else, then he went to live with my cousins and they gave him yet another name.
7. I've always wished I could have taken dance as a child. I think I would have loved it!
8. I'm a blog stalker.
9. I'm obsessed with taking pictures of Caedmon.
10. I never get said pictures developed.
11. I just had to move the first nine numbers over so that all of the periods are lined up. It's annoying me that I can't space over the second lines. *
12. I once prayed that God would let me live in L.A. I meant Los Angeles, NOT Lower Alabama. Gotta love that sense of humor.
13. I eat foosackly's at least 3 times a week. I couldn't eat it at all for 14 weeks of my pregnancy. The smell made me gag.
14. My husband is my very best friend.
15. I lived in a fraternity house in Los Angeles for 8 weeks the summer of '03.
16. I have the best in-laws in the entire world. Hands down.

18. I've lived in Las Vegas. Twice.
19. I have 3 sisters. None of us share 2 parents.
20. My favorite sound in the world is Caedmon laughing.
21. I love sleep. The sleepless first 6 months of Caedmon's life were NOT fun for me. Good thing he's cute.
22. I love comfy clothes. Chase used to laugh at me b/c I would come home on my lunch break and change into sweatpants and a tshirt.
23. I still drive across the state line to get my hair cut.
24. I love to read. I'll get lost for hours in a good book.
25. I ask Chase to stay home from work almost every day.
*Facebook wouldn't allow me to space them, and though my blog will, I decided to leave it.
In The Silence
Tired of telling you, you have me
When I know you really don't
Tired of telling you I'll follow
When I know I really won't
Cause I'd rather stand here speechless
With no great words to say
If my silence is more truthful
And my ears can hear how to walk in your way
In the silence
You are speaking
In the quiet I can feel the fire
And it's burning, burning deeply
Burning all that it is that you desire to be silent, in me
Oh Jesus can you hear me?
My soul is screaming out
And my broken will cries teach me
What your Kingdom's all about
Unite my heart to fear you,
To fear your holy name
And create a life of worship
In the spirit and truth of your loving ways

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama.
You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
I've been stalking reading MckMama's blog for awhile, and have been wanting to join her blog carnival! So here goes!
This past week I did not watch as caedmon spread loose dvds all over the floor and not say anything to him b/c he was occupied. Nope, I wouldn't let my child do that!
I also did not stick my almost 14 month old in the exersaucer so I could get a shower without him ransacking my cabinets again. I definitely know that he is too big for that!
And I would never let my child sit in a stinky diaper for 15 minutes til daddy got home because I'd already changed 3 that day. That just wouldn't be nice!
update: How could I forget that I did NOT let caedmon play with a whole box of tampons while I got ready, and then let him take one along in the car to avoid a fight to take it away! Nope, not me!
What did YOU not do???
